Gepa Cafe
Gepa Café is organic and fair-plus certified.
High-quality organic coffee from exceptional growing regions
You will also find coffee rarities in our organic coffee shop. The conditions for these particularly aromatic coffees are ideal in the exceptional growing regions, but require a lot of experience in cultivation and harvesting. The knowledge is passed on from generation to generation. Some farmers harvest the organic coffee beans exclusively for GEPA. Members of the ACPCU coffee cooperative in Uganda, for example, harvest organic coffee beans, which are included in "Organic Espresso Kampala."
What does "organic" mean for GEPA coffee?
The organic share in GEPA's entire coffee range is 84 percent. Our organic coffees carry the EU organic label or the Naturland label.
The European organic label characterizes products produced and controlled in accordance with the EU organic farming regulation. Organic agriculture generally does not use pesticides and mineral nitrogen fertilizers and strives for a circular economy with closed food cycles as much as possible.
Naturland promotes organic farming worldwide and is one of the largest organic farming organizations. The requirements for Naturland farmers and processors are even more stringent than the legal requirements of the EU organic farming regulation. The label is not awarded to individual products, but the entire farm must operate according to Naturland guidelines. In addition to ecological criteria, Naturland's organic standards also include social guidelines.
Organic at GEPA also means: without genetic manipulation!
