Decaffeination

This coffee is decaffeinated via the dichloromethane method. In this process, the unroasted coffee beans are first steamed to make them porous. Then a solvent is used to extract the caffeine from the beans. After the process, the beans are thoroughly cleaned and dried before being roasted. This process has been used safely in the coffee industry since the 1970s. The coffee contains no residual solvent after the process. This agent is harmless to health and have been intensively scientifically tested. Application, purity and possible residues are strictly regulated by European directives.
